Dear sir,

I am looking for a prayer of general Patton. It probably dates from 1944. My spokesman has red it as a boy. In Dutch it is as follows:
Despote God, geef mij een helder teken opdat ik op U vertrouwen kan...
Despotic God, give me a clear sign, so I can trust Thou/ You ....
That"s all I know. It has been translated in Dutch, but I cannot find it. Not even the War Museum in Overloon could help me. Maybe there is one genius amongst you who will say at once: ' Ah, it's that...'. I hope that you can help me.

Yours truly,

Sjef Matthijssen,

Hi

I' ve really enjoyed looking at the site and I thought you may be able to help me.  I recently visited Vierville, Dog Green sector, Omaha Beach and I was wondering if there are any photographs available of how it looked around the time of D-Day.  I have tried watching Saving Private Ryan but it only gives glimpses of it.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Simon

Wij zijn dus niet de enige die geintreseerd zijn in de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Je hebt een mooie en informatieve site. Kijk eens op onze site en laat eens weten wat je er van vind, misschien

kunnen we links uitwisselen.

My father died in Belgium. I find only one map which faintly indicates '301id'. I was only four years old when he was killed. I rember my mother telling me that the Army (as typically, i guess) first notified her that he was MIA. Later she was told of his death. I'd heard from my uncles and relatives that he had stepped on a land mine. A history in his hometown, in Slovan, Pa. states he was killed by enemy artillery........how can i find where his outfit was? where they were?  I need to find a beginning. Thank you and God bless you......Samuel Plate, Woodbridge, Va.
